VIC, I'm afraid you're way out of touch with the real world of ASX supervision of listed companies if you believe:

On the one hand, ASX gets over listed companies like a rash if there is any suspicion of non-accouncement of something that should be announced. Hence, the famous ASX 'speeding ticket'
On the other hand, they're vigilant that companies (especially mining companies) don't trumpet announcements that have no purpose other than 'hyping' or 'spruiking' the stock. Most announcements are either 'market sensitive' or routine but required by the ASX Listing Rules. A mining company that released an announcement every time a rig showed up on site would have their head handed to them.
