re: be warned! (miningnut) Not sure about the timing but miningnut is definitely on the money with the size of the writeoff. They may only have spent USD1.5-2M this year, but are also carrying a bunch of other China expenses on the balance sheet, going back to the original farmin 2(?) years ago. If they pull out, this all gets written off along with this year's drilling and related costs. Simple accounting.

Personally I'm waiting to see what the SP reaction to Vermilion coming on stream is before thinking about selling any prior to the quarterly announcement - still about a week to go on the latter.
