Almost forty one years ago a group of students were travelling by bus near Hay NSW on a school excursion and the bus rolled over killing the driver, two passengers and injuring twenty students. I was assigned with another officer on behalf of the Coroner to investigate and appear at the inquest. You might well ask yourself how this has any relationship to the present discussion of Brainchip and its mention on the ABC tonight. Well for the purpose of this inquest there were multiple insurers represented and prior to the inquest the issue of whether the bus was capable of withstanding a rollover had been raised and notice was given that one of the insurers intended to call expert evidence. In consequence we were approved to have an independent engineer employed for the purpose of presenting his expert evidence to the Coroner as part of his investigation.

It was in briefing this engineer that I first came into contact with the science and mathematics of tipping points and their irresistible nature once reached. It is a fascinating area and as I have said is where I believe we have now reached in our journey with Brainchip. As it was with the rollover of the bus there was not one single factor that caused the bus to reach its tipping point but a series of events that came together to make the rollover of the bus impossible to stop and so it is with Brainchip there has not been one event that has caused the price of Brainchip to rise and volume traded to increase but a large number of smaller events each of which by themselves not being sufficient alone to have this effect and the ABC report tonight broadcasting to a wide audience that Brainchip has risen in price since 23 March, 2020 1,985% is but another of these small events. Like trying to put more water in a bucket that is full you will have the surface tension of the water resist over flowing momentarily but as you add even the tiniest additional amount the water overflows.

The science is all around take traffic congestion if a road is built with a capability of carrying a hundred cars all you need is one more car added to cause the road to fall into congestion.

Brainchip is in my opinion at tipping point and these incremental positives such as the ABC news item will regardless of the big announcement we crave will continue to propel the share price towards the $1.00 mark and beyond. Even without anything else we know from the 4C last January that the 4C in April is going to contain details of a profit at least ten times that of the whole 2020 financial year and it is clear that this known fact has still to find traction outside these threads. The recognition of the profit officially being in part due to Renesas will have a positive influence on the market perception of Brainchip and the importance of this contract.
