Yes, the pelicans usually have 2 bub's and one is usually bigger than the other. If there is a shortage of food the elder will kill the younger one to survive.
If its a real good season , they usually have 2 clutches before the water goes.
I didnt see any today, but was all from the air. However when i was living out that way, used to always see them and heaps of baby black swans too.
