Rest assure that you're not the only one to let this one slip under the radar. The Northern Territory Department of Regional Development, Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources (RDPIFR) was not aware of Highland Plains until it was rediscovered by Jim and Andrew.

In fact the RDPIFR thought that Diamond Joe's (Legend) Highland Plains project which boasts 84mt at 13.4% P₂O₅ was in their state. Legend's Highland Plains is in Qld and adjoins Phosphate Australia's deposit in the NT. Not to worry, so long as the NT government approves HP as a major project we'll forgive them for the slip-up in their paperwork.

So why is the deposit better on our side of the fence?

Well from what I can work out, POZ's deposit is snug up in the ancient ocean embayment with the Bluff Range acting like a natural dam. Assays to-date indicate that the western target area is the cream of the deposit and there tends to be a progressive thickening of overburden and generally lower grade P₂O₅ as we head in a easterly direction i.e. in the direction of Legend's HP.

This year's drilling is well under way and I'm sure we will be chatting extensively on assay results as they come to hand. Also, the results of metallurgical tests are expected any day soon and I'm sure the silica issues will be debated at length. Not that I expect to see any sand throwing. :-)

Btw, uranium is sexy atm, so please don't underestimate the potential of a U₃O₈ discovery, especially as a source from the uranium rich Murphy Inliner granite which adjoins the northern part of one of the many POZ tenements.
