Most of the French were ' Loyalists ' to the British colonists and the Indians who defeated the Americans in that 1812 war ( more of a skirmish ), and the Quebecois ' separatists ' were not even around back then. This is more a modern era appeal for their sovereignty . What I was more referring to both the rail and ' Apatite ' minerals processing was more at just the turn of the century and early 1900's up to the war years. So my point there was that they remember these issues.

Like how this Florida company back then decimated their entire mining industry at the time. Similarly there had always been this after argument as to why a rail link wasn't allowed in the end to go ahead from Rouyan- Noranda through to the developing mining communities to the immediate east at Val-d'OR . I mean they were only taking less than a 100 klm continuation. So my point is threefold here . ONE being they have long memories . TWO that this could be advantageous to eliminating any Florida based consortium looking for the straight up asset grab. And the THIRD being that why all the talk and promotion of Rail ? Do they want some sort of rail linkage here ? Because they certainly don't have it right now. These are my points. And it was more out of interest in the History than anything else......so I would certainly not read to much into it one way or another.

Just something to discuss. And there is obviously much much more to discuss than just that of Historical events as you say.\
