GMG holds substantial assets, but it also holds substantial debt. if the assets outweigh the debts, your company has equity which means the shares are worth something. If the assets drop in value, the miracle of gearing will amplify the loss, possibly triggering covenants or wiping out all equity.
This is why the share price is so low, this is why this company can't get a decent loan.
What is it so irrational and crazy about that ?
