Is Novartis’s share price impacted? Not one iota.
If fact, the ‘cone of silence’ situation works towards strengthening their negations. You want to drag this out and not inform the market, whilst your SP takes a further beating.....sure thing - it’s the gift that keeps on giving!
Negotiating with other big Pharma companies is stifled by this position also. Word gets out that MSB is looking to negotiate outside of Novartis and it will be hello $1 a share.
Novartis are sitting pretty and silence is their friend. Don’t forget also that if they want the market to know something to bolster their position (such as the 90 day extension) then we will know about it.
