2 things stand out in that article.
1. 2 wells 4km deep and 1m wide. 1m wide is a hell of a well. I have not heard of one that wide before? Can someone with a bit of oil and gas experience comment on whether it is common.
2. Pension funds have invested and it meets indigenous requirements. In my opinion Invictus would be far better off going it alone now they have an increase in market capitalization. This could increase indigenous buy in further by offering more to superannuation funds etc in Zimbabwe. This would give a bigger slice of the pie to shareholders and Zimbabweans; thus further strengthening the project. Diluting the project with an outside investor may be good for the short term but not for the long term security of the project. It just increases the sovereign risk even if this is only slightly. The more skin in the company by Zimbabweans the better.
