Hi @Fact Finder by any chance you can clarify the IP sales aspect that BRN implemented? I've seen some posters mention about BRN yet to have chips available for sale and TSMC schedule way behind thus no income blablabla thereby rendering Renesas deal BS because no chips made until September etc. which kind of confuses me because as far as I understand with IP licence/royalty BRN themselves doesn't need to produce any physical chips. Since the whole thing revolves around SoC and allowing licensees to implement BRNs design onto their own products which means chips manufacturing is entirely up to the licensee not BRN themselves. It's not like BRN ordering certain amount of chips to be made from TSMC and storing them in their own warehouse off-the-rack ready for whoever ordering and ship to client for further post-processing/implementation. Hence BRNs income starts once the contract has been signed and licensee producing their chip with Akida implemented, and the amount is certain % of every single unit produced if not a fixed number. The only reason I can see for BRN needing physical chips is for R&D and samples?
