My perception of BR and his modus operandi is that he has a definite plan for his exit strategy prior to making a financial commitment like he has with SNG. Usually plan A, plan B and plan C.
Oceana Gold is an obvious acquirer once the project is derisked....particularly given their NZ South Island processing infrastructure. A Joint Venture is also another possibility....the SNG Prospectus actually states this as key business objective on p.14.
Having said that, if the gold price holds up for the next few years, there will be quite a few cashed up gold miners available to BR to court as acquirers or JV partners. Equally direct investment by one or more Super Funds or Gold ETF’s. For example Australian Super investing in Federation - Blackwater. Van Eck, Blackrock, Franklin and others have individual investments worth hundreds of millions of dollars in pure play gold miners.
