Solution, don't use radios to communicate, use Mobiles as is most commonly the case nowadays anyway.

Every mine site Ive worked on where you are allowed to use Mobiles as well as or instead of radios people only use Mobiles. The sound is better and every other bugger can't listen to everything you are saying.

These things start out very small, lets worry about mass communication if and when it becomes an issue by which time the way technology is morphing constantly a solution other than mobile phones may even be in place.

But we need to discover minerals there first to have need to want to stay there.
