Political correctness aside, with a 16 year life of mine and with increasing energy costs renewables make sense.
if companies like Goldfields just wanted to make a 'green' statement i doubt they would have gone for such a large rollout of renewable energy and opted instead for some smaller token effort. But as mentioned I don't have a lot of experience in renewable energy (other than the solar panels on my roof which are awesome!).
