'The Weekly Times' on Wednesday 31 March quotes a Mungindi (north of Moree, NSW) graingrower as saying 'I couldn't ask for a better result...in the past week we had 122mm, and in the week prior to that 75mm...it's absolutely ideal for our farming...we will be able to step straight into planting...it is great timing as long as the water gets off our paddocks...'
Another grower at Walgett, northwestern NSW said the rain 'would guarantee producers a growing season, but cautioned we never say we've got it in the bag until we see...the grain in the silo'.
