Its not a gamble - have about 100K in cash for a new car. Cash was "free".
Wife agreed to spend 50k on a shares, if we made a profit, the diff would be to buy the car and go on a holiday.
If we lost ie 10-30%, Mrs.. agreed there would be no holiday, and we buy a cheaper car!
