Anyway at the end of the day the renewables v coal debate is a moot point, because S32 has picked its side.
It has flagged for years that it is getting out of thermal coal and this is all but finalised, even if we end up shouldering clean up costs (that we would have still paid if we kept SAEC).
Manganese, copper, nickel, silver will all do well out of a shift to renewables and batteries.
If you think coal has a glorious future and renewables are a flash in the pan, South32 is not the company for you.
