RNU's application was expecting to mine 200,000tpa of graphite ore for 21,000tpa of graphite concentrate. the pit design was based on this model - above the asbestos material.

The full mine plan based on RNU's expanded capacity is to be,

the main pit will be approximately 930 m long, 280 m wide and 90 m deep and the smaller pit will be approximately 280 m long, 130 m wide and 90 m deep.

The full mine pit will contain asbestos. as stated in the South Australian assessment report.

Its not hard to understand @tally - If RNU went with the small 21k tpa 35 year mine they won't hit the asbestos, We all know a 21ktpa mine wont be viable the directors know this too. That is why they increased the planned production to 80ktpa in years 1-4 then 144k tpa from year 5.
