you seem to be interpreting this as "Amazon/AWS is selling VINs". incorrect
the VIN is software right?
and that software needs to run on a platform or OS... like Windows, UNIX etc.
all the announcement is saying is that the VIN software has been proven to run on the Cloud platforms. Amazons unique combination of OS and virtual infrastructure has proven to be compatible with VIN.
it's a bit like saying "our software runs on Windows"
and it's a huge achievement to have network infra software compatible with the complex clouds
