Although I have previously been asking the question about "what's going on with the southern paddock", I actually agree with you @Tikka223 and was thinking the same things after watching the interview. I think even CC feels for the farmer by the tone of his voice. Reminded me of the classic Aussie move The Castle. Forcing the owner to sell due to some government ruling about needing the land for strategic purposes. As you say the farmer might not give a flying f*** about the money he might just want to keep farming the land his father and grandfather did. I did also think though, that even if SVY couldn't compulsorily acquire the land, what farmer would want a full scale copper mine only a train tracks distance away? Not a nice place to live and work I wouldn't have thought. Its seems to be a story of unfortunate but inevitable.

Hopefully as @kemj says he starts a new family tradition.
