There is a requirement to act on new information that they become aware of that they believe may materially affect the company, and a competent director would have informed the exchange.
Yes the news is publicly available but your implication is that the exchange should monitor ALL publicly available news on ALL stocks and then decided what is relevant for each of them and act on that without direction from any of the companies management?
