    I thought it was about time to put an end to some of the "Idle" chit chat occurring on this thread.
    You can cross check and use all the calculators you like, but it is totally irrelative to this project, might as well investigate the comparative rates for a sherpa!
    Rail infrastructure was always an important part for the initial scope of this projects viability.
    The rail line between Leigh Creek and Adelaide was handed over to state Gov after the demise of the Adelaide coal fired power station which in turn led to the closure of the Leigh Creek coalfield.
    I spoke in detail with Mike Wilde from SA transport (rail division) and whilst the line will need some remedial work, it was in its best condition for years when handed to the state.
    The track has since been neglected due to no use, and therefore no regular maintenance. It was however , fitted with intermittant concrete sleepers to maintain the gauge, and could be back in service in a matter of months with the necessary repairs.
    A 200 klm stretch in particular would need attention to culverts and water crossings, as well as addressing the need for a siding or loop track at some mid-way point.
    The track was designed to carry an axle load of 23 tonnes, and a max carriage length of 1800M.
    All this considered, forget about the trucking costs, sherpas or bicycles carrying urea from Leigh Creek, they won't be needed rolleyes.png
