Saddam, ruled his country with an iron fist. Iraq, was and is not Australia, UK, or Europe as a whole. Iraq is composed of several sects, clans and tribes. And needed to be ruled differently than the west.

That is not to say, we agree on everything he did, like the killing the whole village of Fallujah.

But he was hated in the west, because of the Jewish propaganda, for helping the Palestinians financially, every time Israel demolishes a Palestinian house.
