Nowhere in all this discussion is there any mention of the roads and highways these vehicles use. These highways are currently funded mainly by a fuel tax, Fuel tax is a considerable cost to uses of conventional vehicles. Added to this is a GST on fuel purchases. Government should immediately stop taxes on fuel and make all roads toll roads or at least put a mileage travelled charge.
