I don’t have time to go back and find the exact comment, but the one that stood out for me in Dean’s interview was his comment that if you are a publisher with an audience interested in wine, then you don’t need to build a back end, DW8 will take care of that for you.
Think of the possibilities there:
- Wine blog featuring 4 wines, API buy button plugin, DW8 deliver and the wine blog gets a cut of the sale
- same example for Instagram influencer
- what about the Good Food Guide and similar in major and regional publications
someone needs to have the liquor licence, etc, so maybe this becomes part of the B2C model eventually, social selling, where you apply and get approved and then need to meet certain criteria to use the API and take a cut of any sales generated, but DW8 provide the whole infrastructure.
Probably a while away, but there are lots of publishers with wine audiences!!!
