The current share price is 1.5c, correct me if I am wrong but the MD will earn his shares through these options once he achieves specific performance targets, for example when the share price hits 2.2c, 4.5c and 7.0c respectively or when the company holds 1 million ounces of contained gold etc - see below.
This is a significant incentive for the MD to work towards a successful outcome.
