I fully agree, they do only provide a part of the picture. A fraction of the part they add to the debate may even be less than supporting of AGW.
It is my understanding that there isn’t really such a thing as a Climate Scientist but many types of scientists that specialise/cover particular areas. They all play their part trying to understand their little piece of the puzzle with some areas of expertise having the benefit of much historical data and big dollar spends over the last 100 odd years and then we have many fledgling areas where they basically have just started to understand that the information is needed to better understand the big picture.
