Either way, the old-timers left a lot of ~10grams/tonne gold in the ground at Alexander River and Big River as well, which is being proven with this drilling program.

I think once Siren releases their Maiden JORC Resource @ ~8-10g/tonne gold grade, the mid cap gold miners will start to take a very close look at their projects in NZ.

After this week's Regis takeover of IGO's 30% stake in Tropicana's low grade 1.8gram per tonne gold mine for $A903million, the urgency of these mid cap and large cap gold miners to expand their sales and profits via acquisitions will grow. It takes too long to explore, drill, drill out a JORC resource themselves from their existing assets.

As Brian Rodan and Paul Angus continue to derisk Siren Gold's projects, we'll see some interesting action while the gold price is near all-time highs.
