But you actually believe the bible is fiction (imaginary, made up)... and yet you rely on it as evidence of the spiritual realm? You contradict yourself. It's baffling.
I get people who believe in the spiritual realm. Many of us have experiences that are hard to explain. I had a few of them myself when I was younger. But I'm not about to run about with crystals in my bag and claim that there are spirits everywhere and that they are attempting to communicate with us.
And to believe in the spiritual world is to believe in things such as angels and demons, and werewolves and vampires. They are all as likely to exist as a ghost or spirit. People will always claim that their experiences are real and substantial and yet can never provide any actual proof that these experiences took place.
I listened to one lady who claimed that she could remove ghosts from a persons home. She claimed that she could physically see the ghosts in the homes that she worked in. When asked how she saw the ghosts she quite literally said "I see them in my mind". Or in other words she used her imagination.... and imagined them away.
And no, cherry picking is absurd. As you said, the bible is nothing more than an old novel. Written by someone who wanted to make someone else sound like a mystical being... and quite successfully doing so.
