Goldminex Resources is looking for an experienced GIS geologist to oversee and manage the data collected from the companies PNG operations. The position will be primarily Melbourne based with regular travel to the site locations in PNG.

The Company is exploring for high-grade gold, copper and sulphide nickel mineralisation in an emerging new mineral province in PNG. We are building our exploration team for 2009 and seek an enthusiastic person to full fill the GIS Geologist role.

This extensive project area is located 160km east of Port Moresby in moderate terrain in a culturally friendly environment with supportive local landowners. Site access from Port Moresby is an hour by air.

The Company has been active in PNG since 2005, and has acquired an extensive geological dataset that has been integrated into a Mapinfo based GIS. Currently the company is implementing a web based geochemical database which integrates directly into the GIS. The successful applicant will be responsible for the overall management of all the data gathered from the present exploration campaign and integrating it into the existing GIS. He or she will need to be able to produce top quality maps and figures as needed to aid the exploration process. The position will entail regular short visits to PNG to ensure that best practices are followed and systems emplaced and adhered to. The GIS Geologist will also be responsible for the training of our PNG National geologists in the use of Mapinfo and data entry procedures.
