Mudguts is correct.
Renewables just can`t supply the power needed for electric vehicles by 2040 or even 2050 without radical technological innovation. Wind and solar and expensive ,difficult to store and transport hydrogen just don`t cut it.
Sure renewables are increasing but as a percentage of total electricity have a long way to go.
