Everyone on this thread knows my bullish bias on this stock - but even with that in mind, nothing says "buy" to me more than a lot of "sophisticated" people who have no idea of what they've just bought, who only bought for a small % arbitrage gain and to keep in their brokers good books for future discounted raisings, all trying to sell an abnomally large quantity of shares at the one time.

If i had a more bullish short term take on the broader market i'd probably put an order in at 21c.

A question for any technical analysts out there - i take it a close around 21c today would mean we've broken the current up trend - but how do you take into account a new share issue?

Also, as for the "fierce competition" - it's too hard to compare the companies on the scarcity of information we are provided. Except to say it's always a toss up between the increased power you gain by extracting energy at the surface and the increased safety you get from being at the bottom of the ocean. I dont know where Biosystems sits on this spectrum, but if they want light weight construction, well below the surface, they'd want to be very efficient to draw enough power to make it economical - and they need to be exceptionally efficient to overcome the inefficiencies of producing electricity under water as well - generating and piping electricity in seawater is hardly "mimicking" the natural order! Even the Aquamarine Osyter "laptop" system has part of the "laptop" above the surface and has opted to pump high pressure water ashore.

If i had to put money anywhere other than CNM, i'd put it into the tidal company Atlantis. I think they'll have a big claim on a REDP grant. But they're unlisted and from what i can gather based in Singapore so that might work against them - they seem to have strong backing and a very good product.

but it does prove just how ridiculous it is for the Rudd govt to take out $135mill of the REDP to add to the $1bn+ it's allocated to solar. They could legitimately find a very productive home for the $300mill in just wave and tidal companies alone, let alone the other sectors that need to squeeze into it as well. Still, i'm confident that CNM has done the job to get a sizable grant.
