"Those unwilling to depart voluntarily will be subject to detention and removal from Australia, as has occurred in this case," the spokesperson said.

Well, they should get on with it and deport them and put a caveat that they are prohibited from applying for residence in this country for at least three years - same as for those turned away from our airports for lying etc. I would go further and bar them for good given the enormous costs imposed on this great country!
