Even if the company can force a license to be granted through the courts (which seems pretty preposterous to me and I don’t believe it will happen) projects like this remain almost impossible in a hostile political environment.
the granting of a mining license wouldn’t end engagement with the government- there will be an enormous suite of other consents required by the government from a practical perspective to actually build and operate a mine (including immigration approval for a work force). So even if a license is forced the government has lots of power to stop / significantly slow the building of the mine (including the required port and power plant)
against such a background it would likely be impossible to raise funding to actually take the project forward
does anyone know how long there is left on the exploration license?
