Grov - maybe I didn't elaborate enough to convey what I meant. Economists can well see that there is some kind of fundamental imbalance in the economy or financial markets that will need correcting. What I was getting at was that they're not traders nor students of the markets. They understand economies and their machinations, but that doesn't mean they could make money in the markets. And I mean no disrespect to them in the slightest.

It's just that too many of them are paraded on financial tv as experts on the markets which they are not.
