What is happening in India is tragic. Of the people tested for covid there is a 30% infection rate.
What marks covid as a particularly dangerous virus is it can be transmitted before an infected person experiences any symptoms. The usual path for a virus is if it becomes more virulent it will tend to become less lethal... because the lethal forms tend to kill the host before being transmitted to others. That conditioning factor drops away if transmission occurs prior to symptoms and illness. Continued mutations can then throw up variants which will be completely random in their degree of lethality.
Hi 20521
I watched most of that debate... I notice Michael Saylor talks mainly in future tense. A good part of his arguments fall into the category of "forward looking statements". Personally, I am in the camp that believes BTC goes to zero and I am unlikely to change that view. However, I am extremely sceptical about gold also. The great context is Global warming and climate change... the first casualty is the rainfall patterns... once they become sufficiently disrupted we lose reliable agriculture... debates about "stores of wealth" completely miss the point. The debate should be about values.
