A disease on potatoes caused starvation across Ireland, which resulted in the massive Irish migration across the world, with resultant effects.
Where would the original Batman tv series be without all the Irish characters?
Indeed, the potato was a vegetable of social influence. Yet that bastard, the tomato, gets all the attention.
