Toowoomba makes sense as does Howard Springs as does Avalon near Melbourne. They are not remote sites.
The states will either be propping up hotels or they will be propping up these alternative sites.
No one has shown the difference in cost so far. They are all just speculating.
Don't forget how bad things were during the initial lockdowns. Keeping those hotels operating isn't the worst thing we could do. It's better than letting them go broke.
I'm not saying 3 day lockdowns are great. They're not. However, they are much better than the alternative.
How many lockdowns have we had this year ? Is it really that bad compared to the alternative ?
I have seen no numbers to support the argument either way.
