I don't appreciate how he was shoe-horned into a seat on the Board and I don't appreciate his 'efforts' since.
Derek Thomson is the single most important ingredient in the team. Without him the entire thing would have fallen into a heap. I had a memorable and robust exchange with him over the phone and I think we each got something of the other's measure. He took the point on strategy being the single biggest issue with the company to date. I have other issues but that was my big one.
Nothing you say will get me to praise Matt Sanderson who was not well qualified for a seat on the Board by any objective metric. You know why he was voted in so don't pretend it was to enhance the Board with his stellar expertise. Come on!
The fact that he's gone is bullish for the company.
