I was under the impression (incorrectly as it turns out) that GDN pulled the deaper drilling because they had the gas in the upper levels and would go urgently to proving that gas as commercial to ensure exercise of options and put money in the bank.

Gas confirmation will not occur in the necessary timeframe and it would appear management would have known this when they pulled the drill.

Drilling was two - five days away from the hyper advertised gas targets?

Drill on, find gas and no more problems with money. Drill pulled because rates (then travelling at approx 20 feet per hr) were being slowed by mud? Drill on too costly. Mmmm OK.

As it turns out not drilling on has (for the reasons management gave) cost the company its option income.

Looks more and more like the drill crossed the fault and the target would never be hit but nobody wants to be at fault.

What was the real reason for pulling the drill when they did??
