In yesterday's post I focused on the southern part of the Winu trend. It was 'easier' as there is less 'spotting' on the Sentinel images than to the north.

One thing I nearly added was the apparent lack of drilling at "Winu South" post phase 3 (Hole "19" perhaps lat June 2020).

If Rio were truly excited they could have drilled late in 2020 or begun before now. Drilling at Rimfire/Calibre now and probably some follow up north of Winu - blue dots on this image. Schematic only - Puzzling as some sites were present before but now have white patches on them from possible plastic bags. Prepared sites that were not drilled before is one possibility and an obvious issues when trying to interpret Sentinel imagery.
If this is the 2021 Winu program it looks like they are chasing Winu (main) to the North which is obviously another OD size possibility. This would be extensional rather than new IMO. Apart from the cluster of holes immediately north of Winu the drilling looks more like anomaly follow up at this stage.

The northern most holes reported in the February 27 2019 initial announcement on Winu were shown as Winu009 and 13. Both had very long intersections of Cu + Au/Ag. To date there does not appear to have been a concerted effort to test the possible NNW online strike suggested by the long axis of the Winu deposit.

Sand dunes are an obvious impediment to such tests but IMO another couple of holes could have been drilled between the dunes. That they were not probably indicates how sensitive this environment is both physically and culturally.

The cluster of holes mentioned above may address this issue, albeit after a gap of some 500m which has few other obvious tests. Perhaps some long grid west diamond holes have been drilled?
