it never makes sense when it's falling continuously and the same when it's rising bullishly. They say the market ranges for 85% of the time, the other 15% is either in an uptrend or a downtrend. Right now it's doing quite nicely and is now self sowing. As it grows more and more disbelievers will have no option but to ignore the negative forecasts and get back in before it's too late. It's been amazing to watch and to partake. Why is it rising so hard? One theory that's doing the rounds is that the market simply was oversold and that the reality has dawned that the world still needs to house, clothe, feed and transport people.
When the market moves hard in one direction it become very easy to get stunned by the bright lights and not make a move. Having been in the market since mid 2006 has given me a real crash course. I'm still in the red, but very close to going even again. As I say to my friends who knock me for share trading is the following - I could have bought a brand new car in 2007. I could have bought a business in 2007. I could have bought a house in 2007. What would these assets be worth now? And had I wanted to get out of these assets then how hard would it have been to liquidate?
I see it like this. You are a business person. Your share portfolio should be run like a business. You pick companies that you believe will work for you. Get that right and you won't look back. When certain stocks don't behave as expected then it's only a matter of a click of the mouse. No solicitors. No crap. Move on. Next!
