Threre are two type of investing,
Value investing, and Trader.
For you, if you work full time, then your portfolio needs a bit of everything. Gold, defensive, miners, bank, health, Reits so on and so for, set it up, let it sit there, and don't look at it for 5~7 years. Because our market is on the path of recovery (looks like it to me anyway.) You should aim for a 12~15% return a year. Do nothing, just buy stocks that pays dividend. And you can sleep at night, not worry about a thing.
