What is amazing about the above posters is one would think they are all come from the school that believes economic meltdown is imminent. This is exactly what I wanted to gauge with my initial post.
Some people people are confused because they believe I am a fan of Bernanke and vilify me for that. They need to get a lesson in English language nuances. The ultimate purpose of my post was to find out if anyone on this board cared to post a positive outlook on the economy and to see if anyone believed Bernanke and the Fed had managed to save the capitalist market system. It appears not. This somewhat strange, as a trip around my suburb today shows numerous houses under renovation and extension and several new developments. And a perusal of the mainstream press shows articles about rapidly improving business and consumer confidence.
If a space alien was to log onto to Hot Copper today he would be forgiven for thinking the world was about to end economically.

And finally, I should show my hand. I think there is a high probability of a major economic dislocation beginning later this year and lasting for the next decade. How it manifests itself and the effects it has on the economy I am not smart enough to know.
