Thats true, some individuals want to use their culinary expertise to choose their own, I just know for a fact that many owners in the hospo industry are not this way inclined and actually prefer recommendations. At the end of the day the best seller is called best seller for a reason...
Bidendum is big yes indeed, they will provide their 3rd party logistics service to them (let’s hope that becomes profitable) , they will get access to many new wines and lastly 5,000 existing Bidendum customers will get a $250 voucher that they can spend on orders over $750 (from my understanding the figures they used ‘at least 800 users generating at Least 800k... up to interpretation of wording).
I still personally believe that the hospitality industry still holds a sales rep as a very important structural component.
Why? Typically orders are done weekly (not monthly or sporadic), we need someone we can call on if things are good or bad ( more preferable than a online chat system).
Take Amital (Coca Cola) for example, you would have thought they would of streamlined their systems right? But they actually have 2x sales reps; one who comes through and checks product inventory in fridges and 2x one who services the satisfaction of the store owners.
