Gold certainly isn't a 'clean' asset, it's responsible for some of the worst environmental disasters and heavy metal pollution on the planet.
Why single out gold? All mining operations have an effect on the environment. Coal, oil and iron ore probably the worst. Then you can add timber milling and the effect on climate change, fishing lack of sustainability, airlines and the effect on the ozone, farming and polution of waterways. I guess that leaves banks and they only rort customers which probably explains Skol's love for them.
