I’m not sure what (if anything) was achieved, but it was obviously a strategic decision based on the optics that management wanted to portray.
They decided this was the best pathway fwd for the share price, and the share price is important given the mostly scrip acquisition announced this morning.
Given that she was lurking closer to 50c recently, and today is still ballpark 64c even after a 15% drop, one would have to acknowledge they probably made the right call.
