Lets look at the facts,

Abra’s box-cut is about 190 m long (north-south) to a depth of 25 m and an average width of about 45 m (east-west). The southern wall that is the base of the box-cut is the location of the future main portal for the underground mine decline.

The First stage of a Box Cut is completed by an above ground mining company we used Mine Site Construction Services.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Abra Base Metals Project is a globally significant lead-silver project located in the Gascoyne region of Western Australia approximately 350km North West of Meekatharra.

Mine Site Construction Services was contracted to construct the Boxcut for the underground portal and carry out other preliminary groundwork enabling the commencement of underground mining and construction of processing infrastructure.

PROJECT GALLERY

The Portal work will be completed by the Under Ground Mining company, this will involve further excavation at the site as they will be responsible for all safety aspects of the decline.

Mine Site Construction Services was contracted to construct the Box Cut for the underground portal and carry out other preliminary groundwork not to cut the portal, the Under Ground Mining Company is contracted to do this work.
We all have to remember this is a work in progress and every company has a job to play in the final construction and safety of the mine. When the Portal goes in the Box Cut will only then be finished, building a mine has many stages and Abra is only starting.
