Like you said they are targeting very specific market, if you don't need 8K30P or don't have a 8K30P capable camera, you will probably stick with Ninja V anyway. But if you already have a camera like FX6 and FX9, you can save significant money on the storage by using the SSD rather than CFexpress. IMO Atomos has priced it quite smartly. Don't forget when Ninja V first came out, it priced around 799 or 899 USD.
