Easy to recover oil is what's becoming scarce. So while there might be a fair bit of oil remaining overall, it costs a lot more to get out of the ground (oil shale etc). New technologies will bring this cost down, but probably not by a huge amount.
Can't see risk of an oversupply (of any significance) any time remotely soon, given costs of developing infrastructure to access the resources. In time we can only hope to enjoy an oversupply of clean energy :).
