I saw chokos in Colesworths on line grocery shopping list last week. Overcome with a fit of nostalgia I ordered 4. They were ugly great lumpen things with a few whiskery spikes - so quite"mature'' . I made a batch of what my grandmother used to call choko pickles- To be accurate they should be called Choko Chutney as the chokos are cooked down with onions, spices, vinegar to a delicious sort of mush whereas Choko Pickles would actually be kept in pieces & preserved in a brine solution- Whatever the name they are so yummy on cheese or meat
